Plastic gear
Description
Due to the excellent properties of plastic gears, they offer many advantages, especially in environments where light weight, quiet operation and corrosion resistance are important considerations. Plastic gears are significantly lighter than their metal counterparts, which reduces the load and energy consumption of the drive system. Excellent resistance to corrosion, so they can also be used in wet or chemical environments. Plastic gears are more shock-resistant than metal gears, so they are less sensitive to shocks and impacts.

The materials most often used in production are polyamide (PA), polyacetal (POM) and various composite materials. The choice of material depends on the specific requirements of the application, load and temperature.
