Pre bore Poly-V pulleys
General information
V-ribbed belt pulleys (also known as Poly-V pulleys or multi-v pulleys) are suitable for driving V-ribbed belts. The advantage of V-ribbed belts is that they can also be used on small-diameter pulleys, which is why these V-ribbed belt pulleys can be used from a diameter of 30mm. Another advantage of V-ribbed belts is that their power transmission capacity can be increased proportionally by simply increasing the width (number of ribs). V-ribbed belt pulleys are usually available in 4-6-8-12-16 and 20 rib widths. Not all widths are available in all designs!
Pre-drilled Poly-V pulleys are less commonly used in industry than tapered clamping designs. As a rule, they are used only for quite small diameters. The reason for this is simple: it would be difficult or impossible to place an axle clamp in discs of such a small diameter. In our webshop we sell PJ and PK type pre-drilled longitudinal belt discs. Sati brand pre-drilled Poly-V pulleys always come pre-drilled, while SIT brand Poly-V pulleys are delivered without holes. Detailed information in the catalogues available for download!

A PJ type pulley can be used for PJ type belts, a PK type pulley can be used for PK type belts, and a PL type pulley can be used for PL type belts. Poly-V pulleys can be of a basic drilled design or a taper bush design. The taper clamp for taper bush designs must be purchased as a separate item. Taper clamps can be found in the Shaft Connections menu.
Attention! PK-marked V-ribbed belt pulleys used in industry are made of solid material! Although the belt drive part of the industrial PK-marked pulleys is exactly the same in dimensions as the PK-marked V-ribbed belt pulley used in the automotive industry, their use in vehicles requires caution! In any case, find out whether your vehicle does not require a dual-mass or rubber-damped pulley!
