Pre- drilled timing belt pulleys
General information
Timing pulleys are drive elements for driving timing belts, which have transverse notches on their outer surface. Pre-drilled timing belt pulleys are equipped with a centering hole or centering mark. Pre-drilled timing belt pulleys must always be machined to achieve fixation on the shaft.
The profile of the notches located on the outer surface completely matches the profile of the corresponding timing belt, i.e. their pitch and the shape of the grooves fit exactly to the given timing belt. Therefore, it is not recommended to use a different type of timing belt pulley in the drive, because the timing belt used will fail prematurely even if their pitch matches the profile of a pulley with a different profile.
